Mr. Dunaway earned his Juris Doctorate degree from The Baylor University School of Law, where he excelled in the mock trial competition and was named Barrister. He earned his B.A. degree from Southwestern University in International Studies with an emphasis on economics.

Mr. Dunaway is a member of the State Bar of Texas, Austin Bar Associates, Austin Young Lawyers Association, Young Men's Business League, and the Texas Trial Lawyers Association (TTLA).
